There is a lot you can do to prevent discipline problems with young children. Read on to find out some easy ways to manage toddler behavior before problems have even begun.

Get Into A Routine

Routines are very helpful to toddlers because they represent stability. Do not underestimate this – children need it when faced with the intense emotions and huge developmental changes that define being a toddler.

Make a list of the biggest behavior issues that you have with your toddler – then create routines to help deal with them.

For example, start getting your toddler dressed straight after breakfast every day. After a while she will not only accept this, but actually come to expect it and may even remind you if you forget one day!

Restricted Choices

Some form of choice gives young children a much-needed feeling of being able to control their life. It’s one of the things that separates them from babies and in many ways defines toddlerhood. Nobody is suggesting that toddlers should choose everything that they eat, wear and play with. What does prevent issues arising is giving children a restricted choice about certain things.

Let’s say young Alex doesn’t want to take his bath. The best thing to do is have 2 different bottles of bubble bath at the ready. Don’t be surprised if he ends up so preoccupied choosing which one he’d like in the bath that the argument gets forgotten.

Diversionary Tactics

Children of this age have such short attention spans – this is a gift in terms of toddler discipline. Some foolproof distraction techniques include animal impressions, doing a silly dance and playing peek-a-boo.

Be Firm But Calm

Toddlers will test parental boundaries – expect this and don’t lose your temper when it happens. Be firm but calm and cheerful – used alongside the other methods detailed above, this is very effective at diffusing potential conflict.

You need to be firm. If you show self-discipline in seeing a consequence through, it will eventually teach your child self-discipline as well. A positive manner helps young children get over what seems like a huge disappointment at the time.

Never Say Never -Or Don’t, Or No

No, no, no. Young children adore this word. Pay attention to how often you say it – are you unwittingly teaching your child to use it even more?

Turn those negative statements around. For example:

“No more biscuits” becomes “Biscuits are finished”

Replace “No running!” with “Stop!”

“Be kind” replaces “No more hitting”

You may not improve your toddler’s behavior overnight with these strategies, but be patient and consistent – you will see positive changes before long.

When you’re trying to conceive, you can get pregnant easily with food! If you haven’t heard yet, there are actually more ways to get pregnant than just having sex. What you eat can actually affect how fast you will conceive. This even applies to your partner, as it takes two to tango.

Latest studies have shown that a woman’s diet during pregnancy can even affect the gender of the baby. In fact, research has discovered that expecting mothers who often had a high-calorie diet and ate breakfast regularly had more chances of giving birth to a baby boy. Scientists are suggesting that people being too busy for breakfast and having low calorie diets these days probably influence the increasing number of girls being born in recent years.

How does food make on get pregnant easily? To date, there is proof established yet, but there is increasing evidence on the subject. In studies, those who took multivitamins that included folic acid or iron were found to have better chances of getting pregnant. It is also found that nutrients deriving from vegetables, fruits, beans and supplements in contrast to red meat, are able to boost fertility.

Weight – Experts suggest that anyone wanting to get pregnant easily should initially watch her weight. Women who have a BMI (body mass index) of 20 to 24 have the most likelihood of falling pregnant. On the other hand, women with a BMI over 24 or less than 20 have a less likelihood of conceiving. However, this definitely does not mean there’s no hope for those who do not fall in the healthy weight category. Studies indicate that any woman can jump-start ovulation by making some healthy and moderate changes in their weight.

Going Organic – So what foods can you try to get pregnant easily? There are a number of foods that are considered fertility boosting. Try to consume about 8 portions of organic fruits and vegetables each day. Go for organic when it comes to animal produce such as meat and dairy products. Consume more brown whole foods instead of white refined foods-whole foods contain more zinc, which is good for you. Moreover, you need to eat fewer portions but on a regular basis each day to maintain proper blood sugar levels in your body.

Foods With Fibers – Don’t forget your fiber, which is important in maintaining a healthy bowel and boosting fertility. Finally, eat more “good fats,” which could be taken from oily fish like salmon, tuna and mackerel. You may take fish oil supplements or eat sunflower/pumpkin seeds, as mercury levels can be high in seafood. While you’re at it, drink around 8 glass of water each day.

Foods To Avoid – While there are foods that can help you get pregnant easily, there are those that you should avoid. Avoid drinking caffeine as much as possible. Also avoid drinking alcohol. These substances are known to present a risk of infertility in women.

With so many choices of foods these days, we need to choose the right kinds of food. Eating wisely can help any woman get pregnant easily.

Realistically due to our differences, there is no magic “pill” to losing pregnancy weight. Life is what you make it so make the decision to start and commit to getting back in shape by living a healthy lifestyle. Here are some simple steps to help you on your way to a higher quality of life.

The joy of having a baby and being a new mom can be quickly overshadowed by, amongst other things, losing the pregnancy weight. And it doesn’t help your self-esteem either to compare yourself to the Celebrity mom, sister or B.F.F. who quickly returned into their pre-baby body within a few months.

Pregnancy differs from woman to woman and so is losing the pregnancy weight. Is there a fast way to losing pregnancy weight without having a team of experts like the Celeb moms? Yes. The key is to locate and execute the exercises that work for you.

1. Workout Throughout and Following Your Pregnancy

If your pregnancy is not a high-risk one and you have consulted with your physician, then consider enrolling in an exercise program designed for pregnant women such as yoga. Or you can do any non-strenuous exercise such as swimming, or weight training using lightweights to prepare your body to losing the pregnancy weight after the baby. Regular exercise should enable you to lose the majority of the pregnancy weight within 6 weeks or longer depending on the individual.

2. Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding helps some but not all women in losing pregnancy weight. Weight loss aside, breastfeeding ensures that you will maintain a well balanced diet for your baby’s health. Breastfeeding takes about 500 calories per day to feed your newborn and this will cause you to burn the excess baby fat to maintain the amount of energy you will require and use. But whichever way you choose to feed your baby, make sure you eat healthy foods and drink lots of water.

3. Montior your Pregnancy Weight

As tempting as it may seem, pregnancy is not an excuse to eat anything and everything you desire. Even though some women only gain “baby weight” and others despite eating healthy gain weight, eating healthy is the right thing to do. The goal is to stay within your targeted pregnancy weight as dictated by your doctor. Watching what you eat during your pregnancy will keep the excess pounds from sabotaging your ability to losing pregnancy weight after giving birth.

4. Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle

Respect yourself by eating healthy and working out on a regular basis. There is no better way to losing pregnancy weight than giving your body the healthy advantage. It’s never too late to start living a healthy lifestyle and putting your weight issue on the back burner. The great thing about living a healthy lifestyle is that it can be passed on to your baby and family and improve your quality of life.

You can make these nine months count for you and your baby by eating right and exercising daily. So, why stop there? Whether you decide to breastfeed or not, continuing to live a healthy lifestyle after your baby is born will speed up losing the pregnancy weight and keep you looking and feeling great just like a celebrity mom.

Are you a member of the Silent Generation or the Baby Boom generation? If you are you may remember the Route 66 that took you on a trip through the panhandle of Texas and the other states from Illinois to California. Now you can relive those days on a historic trip on the old Route 66.

The Silent Generation members were born between 1927 and 1945 and many were shaped in their thoughts and actions by the Great Depression, WWII, and the Cold War. They have worked hard all their lives to be able to live the good life and the trip along old Route 66 may be one they just shouldn’t miss.

The Baby Boom generation was more mobile, born between 1946 and 1964 they were impacted by the Viet Nam War, the civil rights movement and the assassinations fo the 60’s such as Dr. King and President Kennedy. These times began a mobile society with people going from their home areas to other portions of the country, whether due to being stationed someplace new following the war or just wanting to see what makes this nation great.

You can start you family vacation going from Illinois to Missouri, then on to Kansas and Oklahoma and Texas, now you enter New Mexico, Arizona and end up in California. The Route 66 will give you a chance to see the heart of America and meet some of the people that make this country so great.

You will either begin your trip in the Chicago area and then end in Los Angeles. It gives you the opportunity to see such places as the Arch in St. Louis, the smaller towns along the way and the middle sized towns such as Springfield and the wonderful people of Missouri. Kansas will take you to Galena, Riverton and Baxter Springs with all the history of these communities and all there is to see. Tulsa is a great place to stop off and take a tour of this beautiful city. The hospitality will certainly leave a warm place in your heart. Here the people are so nice they actually stop to let a car enter the stream of traffic from a parking lot!

Taking a route 66 tour of Oklahoma you will enter Texas and the panhandle. Here you will have the opportunity to spend some time in Amarillo and learn about the history of Texas settlement. Tucumcari is at the east edge of New Mexico and welcomes you to the beautiful state. Then on to Albuquerque where you can visit the museums and visit with some of the people from the city who have stories of the growth of the city. Take the time to see some of the museums where you can learn about the Native American influence in the area. With just the state of Arizona left before reaching California and the end of the route 66 trail you will have had the opportunity to see some beautiful country and build a great family vacation.

Look at it this way: not many people find travel books as fascinating reading. Although people do find other places interesting, there’s just not much that can be said for books which contain a thousand and one facts about different countries crammed into a book. Although this might sound like fun for a trivia geek, it just sounds boring to most people. The book Club Expat: a Teenager’s Guide to Moving Overseas, however, shows that there still is hope for the travel book industry.

This book, authored by the brothers Aniket and Akash Shah, certainly has caught people by surprise. It is part biography, part travel guide and a whole great guide to life. What separates it from other books, however, is the prose. The authors wrote the book in a unique style that just promises to grab the readers and suck them into the world within the book. They let the readers experience a ride full of wonder, loops and leaps and dives.

Moving abroad will always be hard on a teenager. It would be like saying farewell to a world which they have only started to explore. It is often the case that a teenager will feel robbed as though you gave him or her some hope and then dashed it against the rocks of reality. This is when a teenager needs reassurance that everything will be okay. They need to be assured that their lives will not end simply because they are moving overseas. The book Club Expat: a Teenager’s Guide to Moving Overseas definitely does the job!

Club Expat: a Teenager’s Guide to Moving Overseas teaches teenagers how to embrace what life throws at them. It teaches them how to look at the move from another perspective. It teaches them to find the core of stability within the whirlwind caused by the decision to move.

The book Club Expat is a must-read for any teenager moving overseas. This guide will help them see the move as a great adventure. It will help them see the move as a fresh start in life. It will help them to also realize that it isn’t really as earth-shattering as they fear.

A lot of people found the books very helpful because of the informational tips and bits of advice that can be found inside. This is information that can help teenagers survive the little challenges of life as an expatriate.

At first, the book seems to be a simple guide for teens on how to survive moving overseas. However, reading it, people will realize that the ultimate lesson found in this gem is the lesson of life itself. There are certain events in our life that people cannot do anything about. We cannot change what happens in our lives. What we can change is the way we react to it.

The whole book: a Teenager’s Guide to Moving Overseas is a heartwarming book filled with valuable lessons regarding life and living. The pages of this book tells us how you should recognize and embrace every opportunity life can give you. It will also show you how you should take a look at what life throws at you and recognize how you can use those projectiles for your benefit.

A Teenager’s Guide to Moving Overseas is a great and valuable read, filled with lessons that can help you face life with confidence.

by Sandra Wilson

One concern for many women after tubal reversal surgery is whether or not their tubes are actually open. For this reason, they or their doctor may want to use a HSG procedure. The long way of saying that is a hysterosalpingogram procedure. However, there are some things you should consider before proceeding too quickly.

First you might want to know what a HSG or hysterosalpingogram really is. Just think of it as a real time x-ray being done while a dye, or contrast material, is put into your uterus through the cervix. It is hoped, if done correctly, that the dye will flow from the uterus into both fallopian tubes and then spill out the ends into your abdominal cavity.

Perhaps the first concern with doing this procedure comes from it just being done too soon. Using the statistics from Dr. Gary Berger of Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center, we learn that 70% of women conceive within one year of the tubal reversal surgery. Some can become pregnant in less than a month whereas others may take as long as 68 months. Although that latter number can seem frightening, it should not when you realize that most women do conceive within a year.

Another reason for not pursuing a HSG too quickly are the possible hazards. Although not very likely, you do risk infection, reaction to the dye material used, fainting and spotting. Most women who do spot only do so for a day or two. In stories reported though, quite a few felt like fainting.

This leads to another potential hazard you face with an HSG. Although a few women have reported no problems with the procedure, many on the Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center message board said they felt like passing out from the pain. One woman said it felt like gasoline had been put into her body and then lit on fire. It was the most severe pain several had ever encountered.

The pain is why Dr. Gary Berger of CHTRC says you should take 600 mg of ibuprofen before the procedure. If you have a low pain threshold, you may even want to discuss the matter with your doctor before hand. Additionally, in order to fight infection, Dr. Berger prescribes taking a vaginal douche the night before and the morning of the HSG. This is in addition to taking a prophylactic antibiotic as prescribed by your doctor.

However, even if you are willing to risk the above possibilities, you may discover the one big problem with having a HSG procedure. That problem is that the results you get may prove to be inconclusive. This can be due to a number of things such as the radiologist reading the films wrong or the dye not even getting into the tubes. It could be called inconclusive even if the dye gets past the anastomosis site of your tubal reversal but does not spill into the abdomen.

Hopefully, now you have some thought that it could just be better to wait. After all, most women do conceive within a year. At least wait till after the one year point after tubal reversal surgery to proceed with this potentially painful and costly HSG procedure.

Jean Genet is a survivor of autism. Although his IQ is now 145 when he was growing up in the Oklahoma school system he was tested between 75 and 90. Did Genet get smarter once he conquered autism or was he always intelligent? Genet believes he was always intelligent.

Genet is noted researcher in brain mechanisms (how the brain works). He believes in his case and with other children with autism that vaccines damaged the ability of the brain to ground to its physical body. This inability of the brain to establish this grounding with the physical body prevents the child from completing the circuit back in to our reality. In our reality the brain is able to ground to the physical body and connect to its mental, physical, emotional, and speech software.

Until this grounding takes place the autistic child is locked into their own reality. In this reality the child has proper speech, emotional balance, and mental focus, appropriate to their age. In fact, when an autistic child cannot ground to their physical body their brain moves into what Genet refers to as ?hyper drive.? In this state of hyper drive the child?s brain begins to process information at genius levels. Genet identifies this state as ?intuitive genius.? Genet believes that Albert Einstein displayed autistic like symptoms and possessed this intuitive genius giving him the ability to come up with his theory on relativity.

IQ test are developed to determine the intelligence of a person who functions in a proper reality. Since children with autism are disconnected from a proper reality they cannot be expected to perform well on the test although in their reality they are processing at genius levels.

After Genet scored low on his IQ test he was determined to be “deaf and dumb.” Today he would be considered to be mentally retarded by medical practitioners and school administrators.

Of course the solution would be to find a way for the child with autism to ground back to their physical body. Maybe Genet has found a way for this grounding to occur. His research has shown that the brain uses certain brain wave frequencies to ground to the physical body. Genet has created Cranial Dynamics a technology that is capable of encoding this frequencies onto a CD. The CD is then played after the child goes to sleep and wakes up more grounded to the physical body. When enough grounding has come about the child completes the circuit back into a proper reality and bring with them their intutive genius.

The exact causes of ADHD are not know yet. It is known that ADHD is connected to the brain’s neurotransmitters. Chemicals that the brain uses are called neurotransmitters. Two of these chemicals are called dopamine and norepinephrine.

When a child has ADHD it means the level of dopamine and norepinephrine is abnormal. The abnormalities in the levels of the neurotransmitters are caused by both biological and environmental factors.

ADHD is linked with these possible causes:prenatal exposure to tobacco smoke, whether by the mother or surrounding smokers, premature birth, lead poisoning, a mother using drugs and alcohol, malnutrition, low iron or high blood lead in early development stages. Another cause that is not common is brain trauma or severe brain infection.

How to treat ADHD: The treatment plan includes medication to control their symptoms Most common medicines used are methylphenidate (some brand names: Ritalin, Concerta), dextroamphetamine (brand name: Dexedrine), pemoline (brand name: Cylert), atomoxetine (Strattera), and a combination drug called Adderall. These medicines improve attention and concentration, and decrease impulsive and overactive behaviors. Never use these or other medicines without or against your doctor’s advice!

Most parents want to know how they can help their child. ADHD children crave structured environments and need to know what is expected of them. Having the teachers, parents and doctors all working toward a common goal will greatly increase the effectiveness of a treatment plan. Talking with and ADHD specialist will also benefit the family. Counseling is also a good partner to medication for a lot of children. The key is to keeping lines of communication with your doctor open and well used.

The suggestions that follow may seem a bit off the wall but they they have the distinction of working almost every time they are tried. This article addresses the main reason why some schools do much better than others even when all other factors are are pretty much the same. It is to easy when planning a new fundraiser to focus on the things that don’t make any difference in the outcome of a school fundraising program. Here are five of the right things to you should focus on.

Below you will find four things that a school can do that will greatly affect how profitable their new fundraiser will be.

Step #1 – Profit Percentage Does Not Equal Profits.

A company offering 90% profit vs a company offering 20% profit is not necessarily a better deal for a school. One thing to keep in mind is that banks do not accept deposits of percentage. Every bank I know of accepts only money. Profit percentage is the thing that many decision makers look at first and foremost when it comes time to pick what they are going to do for their new fundraiser. What I am saying here does not mean profit percentage is not important, but it should not be the school’s first and only priority when choosing their next new and unique fundraiser. It should be the school’s number one goal to raise the maximum profit possible with the least amount of hassles!

Step #2 – The Product You Sell Does Make a Difference, however, Not As Much As You Might Think! Picking the right product for your new fundraiser does make a difference, but, it does not have the importance that most think it does in having a successful fundraiser. You have probably seen this in your own town, how two schools decide to sell cookie dough and they both sell them at the same time and the same price. But the difference in their results were miles apart! Because of this, you could come to the conclusion that it is not the product which made the difference. So what is it that makes the biggest difference in fundraising results? Hint, see Step #4!

Step #3 – Time Your Fundraiser as Early In the School Year as Possible

The date you pick to start your fundraiser is a very important factor in it’s success. It is a fact that can not be denied. The first school to start it’s fundraiser after school starts wins. The main reason for this is that the first sales brochure that goes into the office or neighborhood has higher sales than the ones that come second or third. However, the timing of your school fundraiser is still not the #1 reason why some schools have more successful fundraisers than others. Hint, the answer is in the next step!

Step #4- How the fundraiser is Run is the Number One Factor in it’s Success.

Program Management is the element that makes all the difference in having a successful fundraiser. You as a fundraising chairperson may know that “How” the school fundraiser is run is critical to it’s success, but the main problem is not many fundraising companies train the sponsors in how to run their sale the right way. On top of that, it is very simple to do.

Follow These Simple Guidelines of Program Management to Get The Most Out of Your Sale.

A) Setting Goals for the School

B) Have A Memorable and Fun Kick Off

C) Maintain The Enthusiasm through the Entire Sale

D) Finding Helpful Volunteers

E) Motivate the Students/Sellers

F) Motivate the Teachers and Staff members to Promote and Participate in the Sale.

To maximize the results on a new fundraiser the students/sellers must be motivated to participate in a way that they have not been before. You can provide motivation not only to the students but to the teachers as well.

The main reason why one elementary will make $8,000 while another similar school will make $15,500, is in what they did for their prizes/incentives for students and for their teachers!

There is a saying “Students could sell $5 bills for $10.00 and do real well if you motivate them right.” The most important part of your fundraiser will be to provide incentives that truly motivate more of your students and teachers to get involved in your school fundraiser like they have never done before! A school that typically has a 25% participation rate will more than double with only a 15% increase in participation. Increasing participation by 15% is not a hard thing to do. But you will have to do something different than what you have been doing to accomplish it.

1. Becoming a good lover takes time. So does becoming a good father. Donating sperm may have been easy, but fatherhood can be a lot more rewarding. Be patient with yourself and enjoy the process.

2. Scared of diaper duty? You might be relieved to know that holding, bathing, feeding and playing with your baby all count as essential hand-on fathering.

3. Your wife will be herself again. Yes, she is probably on duty 24 hours a day with baby on the brain. No, she probably isn’t much fun right now. But life will return to normal as the three of you adjust to your new situation.

4. It may look like all your wife cares about is the baby, but she actually needs you. A lot. The amazing person you coupled with nine or ten months ago is right there inside the stressed-out new mom. Stay close and keep the faith.

5. Your sex life may have taken a nose dive, but you will be able to engage in some adult fun, with your wife, soon.

6. No one is to blame for postpartum depression, baby blues, or any other postpartum mood disorder. The vast majority of women go through some version of these. Don’t blame her or yourself. Many symptoms are temporary, and there are treatments available for all of them.

7. Sleep can help more than you realize. New moms generally have the toughest time with sleepless nights, but dads can be sleep deprived as well. Finding creative ways to help each other get a little more rest can make a big difference.

8. Trust your gut. Everybody, from the guy at the gym to your baby’s pediatrician, will give you different advice. Even if you’re new at this, your instincts are good. Your wife, your baby and your instincts will let you know what you need to know if you pay attention.

9. Playing is essential. It’s a known fact that your baby needs play to stimulate both body and mind to develop properly. Get down, give in to your inner child and groove with your baby.

10. The advent of a new baby is stressful. Even miracles create challenges. Things should get smoother with a little time. If your lives don’t get better, or if you or your wife feels worse, ask for help!
